“Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” Jesus replied: “ ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”
– Matthew 22:36-40
I am a Christian. I love Jesus. I love God. I love reading the Bible. I love to pray. I love my church.
I am a writer. I love expressing myself through words, I love reading books both non-fiction and fiction. I love reading inspiring blogs and articles. I love storytelling and writing stories to stir the soul.
I am a Christian, and I am a writer. But I haven’t done a good job connecting my devoted Christian faith to my love of writing. I have tip toed around connecting the two but failed in communicating my commitment to Christ and deep faith in God into my articles.
Well-meaning family and friends recommend me not to in fear it will scare non-Christians away, a Christian audience is too limiting and because it will leave non-Christians out.
I fear it will make my non-Christian friends “mad” at me for moving towards Christian focused writing and being accused of being “weird” and letting them down in some “strange” way.
But since I write about spirituality and being your authentic self, aren’t I being fake and weak by not speaking boldly and honestly about my faith?
I believe so.
In truth, all my previous writing was Christian writing in disguise. My words were built from scripture and what God says on how to live our life according to His will. Some of you didn’t know it because I didn’t connect scriptures throughout my blog. Sneaky, sneaky!
Moving forward I will be more direct with clear references to the messages I write with scriptures I find in the Bible.
I need to be me in full force. No watered-down versions. I won’t hold back anymore. Christian writer and all. If you are not a Christian, that’s ok.
There’s plenty I will share to will help you on your journey. My intent to welcome everyone no matter what their faith is. We all come from one source and one God learning live in harmony and peace on this crazy planet.
Some people might be put off… even offended. Tough. Jesus never backed down on who he was, what he believed in and why God sent him here on earth. So, if Jesus never backed down, why should I?
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”Joshua 1:9
I am proud of who I am and what I believe. My faith has gotten me through the worst times of my life and made me feel grateful for the great times. It’s because of my Christian faith I am here today writing these words. My faith gives me strength to rise above the deep waters helping me swim across to the other shore to find joy and peace.
Reading the Bible keeps me grounded and on track for what God wants for me. Everything you read in a self-help book exists within the Bible. It’s all there. My choice is to go right to the source of where the words originated. From God.
“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”2 Timothy 3:16-17
I understand why you may not agree my Christian focus if you are not a Christian. Many churches have been judgmental, condescending, and hypocritical. And I am deeply sorry for those experiences and pray you find deep healing and resolve.
I assure you, you won’t find negativity here. I love everyone and accept you no matter what your religion or non-religion is.
We are all on this mind-boggling, insane journey on earth together. This road trip is experienced best by learning from each other and accepting our differences while taking the time to see the similarities.
The beauty lies in the differences. Let’s explore this beauty with open hearts and minds with deep understanding we are all interconnected as one body of spirit.

I love my church and my community both Christians and non-Christians because are all one under one God.
I love who I am, Christian writer and all.
