“Let go of the battle. Breathe quietly and let it be. Let your body relax and your heart soften. Open to whatever you experience without fighting.”
― Jack Kornfield
Close your eyes. Sit still relaxing your body. Noticing your breath, take a deep inhale and exhale. Let it out. Let it all out. Take another deep breath. Relax and be at peace. Drop off everything letting go of body and mind. Simply just be, right here and right now in this miraculous moment in time.
Allow your thoughts to pass away like clouds in the limitless sky or waves rising and falling in the deep sea. No need to control, to change or to improve, just observe. Keep breathing with nothing more to say, to do, to achieve, to strategize or to believe. Simply just be.
Breath in and out, slowly and deeply, one moment after moment. Inhale and smiling. Exhale and smiling. Let the mind settle naturally in its own pace and its own time. Let the body settle naturally releasing and relaxing. Let everything settle sitting quietly in this natural state. Let everything be with total ease and acceptance.
Now stand up taking this peace and spaciousness and carry it with you thorough out your day. When you’re with family and friends, let them breathe allowing them to be naturally as they are. There’s no need to control them, to change them or to improve them. Just smile and simply enjoy being in their presence.
Take this peace and spaciousness and carry it with you at work, while driving, doing chores, standing in long grocery lines, balancing your checkbook or anything else. Wherever you go, wherever you are, whether you’re happy or you’re sad, let yourself breath opening your awareness. There’s no need to control things, to change things or to improve things. Just smile and let things come and let things go. Allow everything to breath with you soaking in life’s beauty appreciating every moment.
Sink into gratitude and gracefulness of the present moment accepting life as it is right now. Dissolve completely into clear awareness merging with the earth and the sky, the moon and the sun and God and humanity enjoying this radiant, luminous existence. Smile inhaling love into your heart and exhaling love out into the world and the heavens above.
And simply breathe and just be.
I found myself breathing more slowly, even without my having realized it. Wow, if you could put this on a tape, it would have quite a hypnotizing effect. As always, beautifully written! and then when you say to let others be “as they are. There’s no need to control them, to change them or to improve them.” I LOVE how you put that in! How true your words always are.

Thank you Sharon! I like to spend time breathing before prayer. It helps to center myself before I talk to God.

What a beautiful, mini-meditation exercise! Like Dextersd, I found myself breathing more slowly, just from reading this. I can picture it on a soundtrack with some waves rolling-in.

How about actually sitting next to the ocean wave. Now that would be relaxing!
